Grading & Drainage
Grading Permits
Grading permits are required for all development that requires excavating or filling or a combination thereof.

When a grading permit is required, application for the grading permit shall show compliance with the minimum standards:

A.) Cut and Fill Slopes §14-8.2(D)(1)(a)
B.) Grading §14-8.2(D)(1)(b)
C.) Site Restoration §14-8.2(D)(1)(c)
D.) Best Management Practices §14-8.2(D)(1)(d)

Grading permit applications shall include:

A.) A topographic survey and grading plan with elevation contours shown at not more than two foot intervals on slopes up to 30 percent and five foot intervals on slopes grater than 30% which shows the information listed in §14-8.2(D)(2)(i-xii) of the Santa Fe Land Development Code.
B.) For all roads or other excavations where the volume of eath to be moved exceeds 1,000 cubic yards, cross-sections or contour maps showing the height of cuts and fills at a maximim of 100 foot intervals and at any major breaks in the terrain may be required by the City Engineer.
