The Board of Adjustment shall have the review and decision-making responsibilities of the following:
1.) Administrative Review
To hear and decide appeals when it is alleged that there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the administrative official in the enforcement City Code Chapter 14.
2.) Special Exceptions
To hear and decide applications for special exceptions as the Board is specifically authorized to pass on by the terms of Chapter 14; to decide such questions as are involved in determining whether special exceptions should be granted; and to grant special exceptions with such conditions and safeguards as are appropriate under this Chapter 14 or to deny special exceptions when not in harmony with the intent and purpose of this Chapter 14.
To authorize upon appeal in specific cases such variance from the terms of Chapter 14 as will not be contrary to the public interest where, owing to special conditions, a literal enforcement of the provisions of this chapter would result in unnecessary hardship
4.) Actions Concerning Appeals
The Board may, in conformity with the provisions of Chapter 14, reverse or affirm, wholly or partly, or may modify the order, requirement, decision or determination as ought to be made and to that end shall have the powers of the administrative official from whom the appeal is taken.
