Based on the 2008 Hazard Analysis conducted by Santa Fe Emergency Management, the City of Santa Fe's top hazards are:
- Lightning
- High winds
- Flood/ flash flood
- Transport incident - rail/air
- Wildfire
The top three hazards may be interrelated in a severe thunderstorm during the monsoon season. Severe weather events pose a significant threat to the City - take extra precautions when participating in outdoor recreational activities.
The Hazard Analysis is a living document and is scheduled to be revisited in the Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
