Grading and Drainage Walk-in Hours

All building permit applications that are required to comply with the terrain management rules must include a grading and drainage plan starting November 1, 2008. If the work that is proposed modifies the drainage on the site, the permit will need to comply with the terrain management rules. Adding any new impervios surface, changing grading or adding a retaining wall are examples of modifying the drainage on the site.

During the walk-in hours, staff will assist a building permit applicant to prepare a grading and drainage plan for minor development projects an will also answer questions about escarpment, floodplain and terrain management issues. Minor development projects have no more than 3,500 square feet of impervious surface of proposed construction, have no more than 5,000 square feet of disturbed land on the entire lot and disturb no slopes that are greater than 10%.
