Bicycle and Trails Committee

BICYCLE AND TRAIL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

CREATING AUTHORITY:   Adopted on September 24, 2003 by Resolution No. 2003-87.

 

MEMBERS:   The committee shall consist of a member of the City Council who shall also serve as its chair, along with eight members of the public, with recommendations from the city council to be made to the Mayor, and who will appoint the committee with a balance of recreational, commuter, biking, pedestrian, youth and neighborhood group users with the usual Council approval.

 

TERMS:   The members of the committee shall have two year terms and shall serve at the pleasure of the governing body and may be removed at any time with or without cause.

 

MEETING TIMES:   The Committee shall also conduct all meetings in accordance with the adopted City policies and procedures and shall use Robert’s Rules of Order in conducting meetings.  They shall meet at least every three months (quarterly) but may meet more often.

POWERS AND DUTIES:

 

The Committee shall evaluate the 1993 Bicycle Master Plan and the trail portion of the Parks, Open Space, Trails & Recreation Master Plan and advise city staff on measures needed to expedite the plans’ implementation.

 

The Committee shall help prioritize the projects to be completed using CIP funds, review construction plans, review allocation of funds for improvements, seek funding through CIP, state of federal funds.
