The City of Santa Fe will hold a regular municipal election on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 for the purpose of electing:
A. One Mayor elected at-large to a four year term;
B. One City Councilor from District 1 to a four-year term;
C. One City Councilor from District 2 to a four-year term;
D. One City Councilor from District 3 to a four-year term; and
E. One City Councilor from District 4 to a four-year term.
CLOSE OF REGISTRATION BOOKS
All persons desiring to vote in the March 2, 2010 regular municipal election must be registered in the city of Santa Fe. The Santa Fe County Clerk will close the registration books for the election on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Persons residing within the city limits may register to vote at the following locations no later than Tuesday, February 2, 2010:

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 is the first day the City Clerk can mail an absentee ballot to a registered voter whose application has been accepted. The deadline for the City Clerk to mail an absentee ballot to a registered voter whose application has been accepted is Friday, February 26, 2010. Ballots must be received in the office of the City Clerk by 7:00 p.m. on March 2, 2010. The City Clerk will accept completed absentee ballots delivered by mail, or in person by the voter casting the absentee ballot, their caregiver, or by a member of the voter’s immediate family, until 7:00 p.m. on March 2, 2010.
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 is the first day that a registered voter may vote in person on a paper absentee ballot in the office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Completed ballots will be retained in a locked ballot box.
Wednesday, February 10, 2010 is the first day that a registered voter may vote in person on a paper absentee ballot in the office of the City Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Early Voting). Voters will insert their completed ballot into a M100 Vote Tabulator.
Friday, February 26, 2010 is the last day that a registered voter may vote in person in the office of the City Clerk.
ELECTION DAY
Election Day is Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. After the polls close, the City Clerk will announce the unofficial tally of votes at the City Hall Council Chambers, 200 Lincoln Avenue.
