Celebrate Bike to Work Week, May 9-16, 2015

Santa Fe, NM - May is Bike Month!  Along with many other communities, Santa Fe celebrates Bike-To-Work Month by sponsoring Bike-to-Work Week from May 10-16, 2015. This year, as in past years, Bike-to-Work Week in Santa Fe will culminate with Bike-to-Work Day events on Friday May 15, 2015.

Bike- to-Work Week kicks off with a South Side Community Cruise on Saturday May 9th. Meet at 9:30 am at the Southside Library-6599 Jaguar Drive, for this fun, family oriented ride.

On Friday May 15, everyone is invited to Bike to Breakfast Burritos on the Historic Santa Fe Plaza. Stop by the Plaza on your morning bicycle commute from 7:50 am-8:30 am to pick up your free breakfast burrito.

At 4:45 City, County, and State employees will form after work convoys to the Railyard Plaza to compete in an annual friendly challenge to bring the most bicycle commuters to the Bike to Work Celebration. Everyone is welcome to join in. Meet at the County Administration Building on Grant Ave or the Runnels Building near South Capital Station for these fun mass rides.

The main Bike to Work Week event will be held at the Railyard Plaza from 4:00-6:00pm on the 15th. The event will feature informational booths, giveaways, opportunities to socialize with and learn from fellow cyclists, and the famous goathead piñata! There will also be live entertainment, the Mayor will be giving away the Cinelli bicycle and Bicycle Technologies International (BTI) will be presenting the first annual Community Bicycle Awards.

All week long there will be group rides, presentations, music, and giveaways.
