Santa Fe Parking Permits

Please Note 

Parking permits must be renewed annually. This includes: Monthly Facility Permits, Loading Zone Permits, Local City Business Employee Permits and Residential Permits.

All outstanding parking citations must be paid in full before any parking permit can be issued. In addition, if you are renewing your permit, you must bring a copy of your previously issued permit and your access card (if applicable) to the Parking Division Administrative Office. 

Before completing the parking permit application please read and make sure you understand the monthly parking permit policy.

Monthly Lot / Garage Parking Permits

Monthly parking permits are issued at all of our garages and lots. Access cards are issued with permits to all facilities except Canyon and Railyard surface lots. At the time of application, a $21.00 non-refundable application fee is required for the access card. The chart below shows current permit availability at our facilities.

City Employee Parking Permits

City of Santa Fe employees whose offices are located at City Hall and/or Market Station are entitled to receive an access card to the Santa Fe Community Convention Center and Railyard Garage, respectively. The permit is offered free of charge with the completion of a Parking Permit Application and is valid as long as the employee is employed with the City of Santa Fe and stationed at City Hall and/or Market Station. Permits must be renewed annually.

City of Santa Fe employees who regulary visit City Hall and/or Market Station on business are entitled to receive a Satellite parking permit for access to the Santa Fe Community Convention Center and Railyard Garage. This permit is also offered free of charge with the completion of a Parking Permit Application and Department Director approval. These permits must also be renewed annually.

Apply for a City of Santa Fe Employee Permit 

Local Business Employee Reduced Monthly Parking Rate ($35)

In an effort to encourage employees to park in off-street facilities and free up the more in-demand on-street metered spaces for potential customers, the Parking Division will adopt a low-cost local business employee monthly parking rate of thirty five dollars ($35.00) per month in all city owned garages and lots. In order to qualify for this discounted employee rate, local business employees shall meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be employed by a local City of Santa Fe business;
  • Hourly wage cannot exceed fifteen dollars ($15.00) per hour or annual salary cannot exceed thirty one thousand two hundred dollars ($31,200.00)
  • Must provide most current and verifiable employer pay check stub.

Monthly On-Street Meter Permits

Another great way to park affordably downtown is to purchase an on-street meter permit. These monthly permits are suitable for downtown, at the railyard and for frequent visitors who need to park in the same area (or zone). Permits allow for on-street parking at metered spaces and parkers do not need to worry about having to pay the meter or moving their vehicle after the time limit has expired. Monthly Rate: $131.25 (includes tax) with an annual administrative fee of $21 charged upon issuance or renewal. Parking meter permits are currently available in the following zones:

Railyard Surface Lot

Zone A: South Federal Place, Washington, Sheridan, Grant, Catron, Jefferson, Griffin

Zone B: Don Gaspar, South Capitol, Galisteo, Montezuma, West De Vargas, Alameda

Zone C: Palace Aveue, Cienega, Hillside Otero

Zone D: Sandoval, Manhattan, Read, Garfield

Annual Loading Zone Permits

Does your business often make deliveries in the downtown area? If so, you might consider purchasing our annual loading zone permit. This permit is available for purchase by businesses with a current City of Santa Fe business license and is good at any of the 64 on-street loading zones in the downtown area. Please abide by the time limits set for each zone.

Annual Rate: $84 (includes tax) for businesses located within the City of Santa Fe limits and $99.75 (includes tax) for buinsess located outside the City of Santa Fe limits. A $21 administrative fee is charged to businesses opening a new loading zone account or who renew their permit without returning their previous permit.

Documents required to apply: Current City of Santa Fe Business License, completed Parking Permit Application.

Annual Residential Parking Permits

If you live in a designated residential parking permit required neighborhood and you park on the street, you will need to obtain annual residential parking permits. These permits are offered free of charge to residents who complete a parking permit application and provide proof of residency (lease agreement, utility bill, etc.).

**If you are renewing your current residential parking permit please see the schedule below as to when you should renew. Please note your current permit is still valid until the renewal month below.**

The following streets are designated as Residential Parking Permit required:

District 1: W Manhattan Ave., Aztec St., W DeVargas St., Defouri St., Romero St., Adolfo St., Amado St., Alarid St., Paseo de Peralta, Ninita St., Rosita St., Camino Sierra Vista. - Will be renewed in December

District 2: Rio Grande Ave., Paseo de la Cuma, Rosario St. - Will be renewed in June

District 3: E. Palace Ave., Faithway - Will be renewed in June

District 4: Galisteo St. - Will be renewed in June

District 5: Kearney Rd., Kearney Ave., Otero, Magdalena - Will be renewed in June

District 6: Chapelle St., McKenzie St., Staab St. - Will be renewed in September

District 7: Don Gaspar Ave., E Santa Fe Ave., W Santa Fe Ave., Galisteo, Webber St. - Will be renewed in March

District 8: Elena St., W San Francisco St. - Will be renewed September

District 9: Acequia Madre - Will be renewed in September

Documents required to apply: Copy of current lease agreement or utility bill showing proof of residency, completed Parking Permit Application.

Cancellation Form

The City of Santa Fe Parking Division must receive a 30 day cancellation request for any permit / access card. Access card/permit has to be returned to the Parking Division office by the cancellation effective date. If access card/permit is not returned by the cancellation effective date, fee for the following month will be charged and added to the account.

The City of Santa Fe Parking Division reserves the right to cancel an access card/parking permit at any time by written notice of cancellation.
