Ability to enforce swimming pool policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. &lt;BR&gt;

3. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: &lt;BR&gt;
Must successfully pass background investigation. &lt;BR&gt;
Must pass drug and alcohol screening prior to employment and periodically thereafter. &lt;BR&gt;
Must become certified in Standard First Aid and CPR within 2 months of hire. Applicants will be required to swim 500 yds. in 12 minutes, tread water for two minutes with legs only, swim 25yds. doing approach stroke, retrieve a 10lb. object from a depth of 10ft., head and chin support of submerged victim/removal from water/EMS active victim rear rescue (unless previously taken and passed.) Must be in top physical shape and the ability to pass physical test to verify ability. &lt;BR&gt;
&lt;BR&gt;
4. WORK ENVIRONMENT: &lt;BR&gt;
Work is performed at an indoor and/or outdoor pool, sometimes in confined spaces. Is directly responsible for the safety of other people. Subject to cuts, scrapes, bruises, germs, bacteria, viruses, dust. Arduous physical exertion required, including walking, standing, sprinting, running, bending, twisting, and climbing; must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Manual and finger dexterity and visual and hearing acuity required. Irregular working hours (including weekends) and a willingness to transfer to other swimming pools required. Must be able to accept multiple demands from several people. &lt;BR&gt;

		<description>&lt;BR&gt;GENERAL DESCRIPTION &lt;BR&gt;The Mechanical Structural Specialist Senior performs journeyman level HVAC work; and, skilled facilities maintenance in the areas of carpentry, construction, electrical, heating and refrigeration, painting, plumbing, and/or irrigation. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;SUPERVISION RECEIVED &lt;BR&gt;Works under the general guidance and direction of the assigned supervisor. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;SUPERVISION EXERCISED &lt;BR&gt;Provides guidance and direction, as needed, to Mechanical Structural Apprentices and Mechanical Structural Specialists. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;NATURE OF WORK &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Essential Functions: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Trouble-shoots, repairs and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in their area of specialization. Monitors, installs, alters, renovates, repairs and maintains City facilities, mechanical equipment and/or utility systems related to buildings. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Performs quality control inspections of City facilities and systems such as heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Reads, interprets and works from sketches, diagrams and blueprints. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Logs in work orders on a daily basis. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Generates materials lists. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Performs routine maintenance and regular testing on facility equipment related to buildings and complexes. Maintains all mechanical systems including, but not limited to, electrical, cisterns and HVAC. Establishes and maintains scheduled system check, maintenance and temperature logs of all mechanical systems. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Solicits and administers maintenance agreements for equipment and mechanical systems. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Maintains and serves as custodian of all facility documents including, but not limited to, warranties and maintenance and service contracts for all equipment and mechanical systems. Maintains commissioning documents and participates in commissioning meetings. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Performs cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, etc. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Performs and assists in set-up and take-down for trade shows and other events. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Provides or assists in providing on-the-job training for maintenance staff as needed. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Minimum Qualifications &lt;BR&gt;Education and Experience &lt;BR&gt;High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience, specialized education or training in carpentry, construction, electrical, heating, refrigeration, plumbing, painting and/or irrigation; AND, must possess a journeyman HVAC license with MM-3 or MM-98 classification. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Additional Requirements &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Must possess either Journeyman’s mechanical HVAC license in area of specialty as required by the State of New Mexico Construction Industries Division depending upon the current needs of the department. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain a City of Santa Fe driving permit within three months of hire. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;• Must live within 30 statute miles of the employee’s workplace and have a telephone in the residence or be available by another effective means of communication as approved by the supervisor. Must be available for 24-hour emergency stand-by duties when required. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Knowledge of repair and installation equipment and tools; hazards and safe work practices on the shop floor and in the field; MSDS; principles, practices and theories of identified trade; English grammar, spelling and punctuation; and computer hardware and software used in the maintenance field. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Skill in developing and maintaining business relations and in interacting with staff, management and contractors; effective oral and written communication; performing complex system and component installation. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Ability to keep accurate, precise, and neat records and make entries into the facility log book; prepare and/or process purchase orders; be accountable for inventory/property management; use or repair heavy or complex machinery, such as HVAC systems, construction equipment, &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Physical Demands/Work Environment &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Work is performed inside and outside, sometimes in inclement weather. Work is strenuous and requires bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, climbing ladders and lifting of 70 to 100 pounds. Must be able to perform work at 20 to 70 foot heights such as parking lot lighting, sports lighting installations, etc. May be exposed to cuts, bruises, scrapes, shocks, unpleasant odors and fumes. Finger dexterity, visual and hearing acuity is required. May be required to work irregular hours, weekends holidays and evenings.
