		<description>GENERAL PURPOSE &lt;BR&gt;To provide technical user support in all responsibilities involved in application software. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;SUPERVISION RECEIVED &lt;BR&gt;Works under the general guidance and direction of Department Director or Division Director. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;SUPERVISION EXERCISED &lt;BR&gt;None. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (A position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties, which may be found in a position of this class). &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Analyzes application system functions as they relate to information systems and system users. Gathers data to create reports, displays or files as needed. Makes recommendations for system or user function enhancements. Solves complex application software and hardware problems. Creates and maintains application software documentation. Delivers presentations to staff and management. Develops requests for proposals and requests for information. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Assesses vendor application software and acts as liaison with vendors including contract review. Analyzes, plans, and implements new software releases. Defines technical specifications and time schedules for modification of existing systems or implementing new systems. Trains users in new and existing software releases. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Attends meetings, seminars and workshops as required. Provides administrative software support. Defines, analyzes and maintains security for application users. Provides back-up support for operating system functions. Provides help desk support. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: &lt;BR&gt;1. Education and Experience:&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;A. High school diploma or equivalent; and&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;B. Six (6) years of education or work experience in computer programming and/or application software implementation and support in a multi-user environment, and training users in application software; or&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;C. An equivalent combination of education and experience. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Knowledge of application system functions as they relate to users; of computer technology as it relates to the supported application; of the implementation of new software releases; of techniques and methods used to train user. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Skill In application software operations, producing work within a specified production schedule, communicating technical or operational information orally and in writing. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Ability to work well in groups and with other people. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;3. Special Qualifications: &lt;BR&gt;Employees who have access to FBI CJIS, NMLETS or NMCJIS must be willing to submit to and successfully pass background investigation. Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver&#39;s License or obtain one within one month of hire. Must obtain a City of Santa Fe, Driving Permit. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;4. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting. Requires sitting and typing for long periods of time. Close exposure to VDT&#39;s,CRT&#39;s and UV Rays. Irregular shifts and extended work hours may be required.
