El Rancho de las Golondrinas Spring Lecture Series - Feb. 25
“Billy the Kid in Story and Song,” This program will explore the legend of one of New Mexico’s most famous citizens (and by far its most famous outlaw) through the historic music that has been associated with the real-life Kid, as well as the songs, poems, and stories that have been created about him. Mark Lee Gardner’s new book “To Hell on a Fast Horse” focuses on Pat Garrett’s final manhunt for Billy the Kid in 1881. Mark has written a broad range of books and articles about the American West. He is also the author of many interpretive guides put out by the National Park Service.
