[ACTIVE] Public Involvement Meeting on the Acequia Trail Project

Osage Avenue and Agua Fria Street. The public is invited to make comments and suggestions and express concerns about the proposed project.

The City plans to build a designated bike and pedestrian connection near the Acequia Madre between Otowi Road and Baca Street. This corridor will complete the recently constructed non-motorized multi-use Acequia Trail that exists between Potencia Street and St. Francis Drive.

The proposed project is part of an overall future trails network, which is included in the 1999 Santa Fe General Plan. The Acequia Trail is also part of the Bicycle and Trails Advisory Committee’s proposed trail improvement system for the City. The trail would connect with other existing and planned trails in the area, including the Santa Fe Rail Trial.

The Acequia Trail would provide a means for pedestrian and bicycles to access areas including the Santa Fe Railyard Park and Plaza, Ashbaugh Park, Larragoite Park, and the many schools and neighborhoods along the way. All improvements will be constructed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
